GCCCF Informs Throughout The Community

The Greater Chattanooga Colon Cancer Foundation has been keeping the roads warm in our community by attending several health fairs this month. The first one was Fall Back into Health, which took place on Saturday, October 12th, and was organized through a partnership between Chattanooga-Hamilton County Health Department and La Paz Chattanooga. This event raised colon cancer awareness in the Latino Community and was attended by Peggy Whitmire, Stephanie Baker, RN, and Dr. Marshall Horton.

The next event was the Tennessee American Water Company Employee Health Fair that took place on Friday, October 20th, and the GCCCF was represented by Dr. Marshall Horton and our infamous inflatable colon!

The last event was the Blue Cross Blue Shield Employee Wellness Fair on Saturday,October 21st. The theme was "tailgating" and it was attended by employees, their families and retirees. Peggy Whitmire, Missy Walden, and Dr. Marshall Horton, all educated the attendees on the importance of colon cancer screenings beginning at age 50.

The GCCCF would like to thank all the volunteers for their help and sharing their first hand knowledge that colon cancer is preventable, treatable, beatable!!
