Dr. Lorenzo accepts the covetted "Champions of Healthcare" award Thursday, September 18th, 2025 at the Chattanoogan Hotel and Conference Center on behalf of the GCCCF. The organization has been educating the community on the importance of colon cancer screening for 16 years. For many years they have partnered with Volunteers in Medicine (VIM) and Project Access (PA) to be able to provide screening to the uninsured. Now they are able to add the "Good Shepherd" volunteer program where not only is transportation provided, but a volunteer will stay during the procedure and escort the patient safely home so that more people can get the colonoscopy they need.
